A spell appearing on your sheet does not establish that its full description is available. Open the entry before the session and check what it contains. If it only has metadata, find the rules reference your table uses before deciding how to play it.
DnD Dynamic Sheet combines entries with descriptions and entries with metadata; some text remains in English. This guide starts with that published limit so a long list does not replace checking an individual spell.
Prepare a reference rather than an assumption
Suppose you selected a spell whose name you recognize but whose conditions you do not remember. Rather than filling in its effect from memory, check the edition and source agreed with your game master. Another edition or a homebrew variant can use the same name differently.
No spell text needs reproducing for this check. Prepare your own note with its name, reference and open questions. Do not assume the application automatically links every external source.
Check before using it in your next decision
- Does the entry include a description or only catalog data?
- Does the source match your table’s rules edition?
- Have you consulted casting time, range, duration and conditions in that reference?
- Is there a question for the game master?
- Can you find the reference again during play?
This is manual preparation, not validation the app performs across every rule. It promises neither complete nor translated entries throughout the catalog.
A reference card that leaves the missing part visible
Prepare a reference outside the catalogue, on paper or in your own notes. Use six fields: spell name; agreed edition; source and section; visible information; missing information; question for the Dungeon Master.
Suppose you selected a spell and checked that its entry shows metadata only. You do not need to invent another spell or copy rules to write this note:
| Field | What to record in this case |
|---|---|
| Name | The literal name of the entry you opened |
| Edition | The one agreed for your campaign; check if you do not remember |
| Source and section | Still to locate in the reference your table uses |
| Visible information | Only the metadata you actually read |
| Missing information | Duration, if absent and not yet checked elsewhere |
| Question | Where do we consult the duration for this version of the spell? |
Once you find the source, check duration and conditions alongside the rest of the description. If the issue remains unresolved, ask the Dungeon Master how to proceed before basing a turn on an assumed duration. This card identifies a specific question; it grants no effects, changes no rules and does not imply that every entry has the same gap.
How DnD Dynamic Sheet fits
The Windows application focuses on the character sheet: abilities, skills, hit points, notes, counters and spell selection. It also supports custom spells. If you use that option, check your data against the source and table agreements; personalizing an entry does not make a rule official.
For this exercise, consult the entry for the spell you want to use and keep your questions in your own note. The six fields above are our preparation proposal, not an app form. We claim no automatic book imports, access to external paid catalogs or edition-compatibility check.
Other sheets have their own references
Roll20 documents its spell tab, and D&D Beyond maintains a spell catalog. Check each service’s terms and sources. We have not measured which is most complete, and buying DnD Dynamic Sheet does not establish access to those services’ content. Sources checked on October 23, 2026.
Review the product available today
DnD Dynamic Sheet is available as a paid Windows x64 beta with a one-device license. Initial activation requires Internet; the sheet and local data can then be used offline. Updates and online validation need a connection.
Review real recordings, current conditions and Windows purchase, along with the published product facts. This is a character sheet, not a virtual tabletop with shared maps or video calls. If you mainly need a complete text library, check that requirement before buying.
