Confirm which roll is being resolved
When the table asks for a Dexterity saving throw, do not automatically copy your Acrobatics bonus. The free D&D 2024 rules distinguish ability checks, saving throws and attack rolls. Sharing an ability does not make two rolls identical.
Check the roll type, ability and applicable proficiency before rolling or interpreting the result. DnD Dynamic Sheet collects character information; this guide does not claim it decides which roll each situation requires.
One die result, two different totals
Our fictional character has a +2 Dexterity modifier, a +2 Proficiency Bonus, proficiency in Acrobatics and no Dexterity saving throw proficiency. We assume no other effects.
With an 11 on the d20:
- A Dexterity (Acrobatics) check gives 11 + 2 + 2 = 15.
- A Dexterity saving throw gives 11 + 2 = 13.
For an example DC of 14, the first reaches it and the second does not. These are not interchangeable options from which to choose the better result: the requested roll determines the calculation. Skill proficiency alone does not grant saving throw proficiency.
These are authored numbers, not a particular class build or output obtained from the app. For your character, consult the class, features, effects and rule that triggers the roll. Resolve mismatched information with the table before continuing.
What to keep on the sheet afterwards
The product facts document abilities, skills and proficiency, Hit Points, actions, movement, counters and notes. We present no saving-throw button or undocumented automation.
A practical sequence is:
- Confirm the requested roll type aloud.
- Consult relevant modifiers in the sheet and character rules.
- Resolve the roll for the agreed situation.
- Update Hit Points, resources or notes only for the effect actually resolved. A failed roll alone does not specify damage.
A useful note could say “Dexterity save; total 13; effect awaiting resolution.” It separates a calculated total from an effect you do not yet know.

DnD Dynamic Sheet is available as a paid Windows x64 beta, with a lifetime licence for one device. Initial activation requires internet; afterwards the sheet and local data can be used offline. Review the official product and purchase page to decide whether its workflow fits your play.
